February 25 - 5 miles

With talk of looming layoffs at work in my department, I couldn't help but be extremely stressed. While some co-workers headed to the bar for a round of drinks, I headed the opposite direction (to the gym) yesterday after work. My heart rate was through the roof - up to 180 - during a 5 mile in 49 minute run. Not one of my finer runs. It felt so good to sweat but I also felt like I was going to have a heart attack. Never a good sign, right?

Anxiety is never good for the heart rate love. Hope you are feeling better. I think we are all feeling a bit anxious. We'll get through it together.

I agree the stress probably spiked your HR. You made the right decision on the run over the bar though! Everything will work out ok I'm sure. :)
